Busy bee!

Haven’t blogged for a while now… Been crazy busy at school this past week and next week isn’t much better. Have a ton of homework, 2 presentation, 1 chemistry test (oh nooo) and one long rapport about history before Wednesday… busy, busy! So just a little update on what has happened this past week and what is still to come:

-went to the nigh premiere of”new moon” , the new Twilight movie last Thursday. Started at 00.01 and the whole movie theatre was packed with like 99% girls… I’m not really a huge twilight-fan (one of the few) and it was really late and I was kind of tires sooo……I fell asleep x] haha the other girls in my class just couldn’t believe how I could possible fall asleep during a TWILIGHT movie! Haha, but oh-well… I’ll buy the DVD when it comes out, so no worries!

-Booked my car theory test last week aswell, so have to read alot these fallowing weeks. Hopefully I'll pass, but if not, my driving school pays for the second test ..

-were in London last Saturday with the class. Went to see a play at the National Theatre. It was pretty much crap.. didn’t understand anything of it.. But we had like 10 hours free-time before the play so had a great time with friends just walking around. Even went to the British museum and the National Gallery! Wow, I’m really starting to be like my mom… And outside the NG there was of course Nelsons Column with his four lions around him, so we decided to try and climb up there, like all the other tourists… Easier said than done! But we managed to get up there at last..

 On my was to Hogwarts!

London eye!

-today is Thanksgiving! So sending my thoughts out to everyone celebrating that today! Also to them not being able to be with their family. So happy turkey day to you all!

- today is my roommate birthday! so happy birthday Karoline, you’re the best<3 also my “grandma” Eva has a birthday today as well so hope both of you have a good day! I love you

-many things to celebrate today! It is also one year since the best day of my life! The 26.of November 2008 when I went to my very first Mcfly concert! And not just any other concert, a TOTALLY unexpected private concert for a small audience in a random place in London. That whole week in England last year was totally awesome with 3 mcfly concerts all together, but the 26 especially was indescribable good since it was soo unexpected and we also got to meet the band after the concert, so yeah the best day ever<3 So thank you to all the awesome girls I travelled with that week: Emma, Cecilie, Katrine, Katarina, Stine, May-Linn and Tine. I miss you guys.

-on Monday Karoline and I booked tickets to go to Gran Canaria in February during our winter vacation! Can’t wait! Will be good with some sun during those cold winter months.

-This weekend we are also traveling to Birmingham! Nothing special happening there, but we just wanted to see the city. And we found out that they have a huge chocolate factory there, so will definitely pay that a visit!

-And finally our concert tickets for “Pink” arrived today in the mail, so we’re all set for the concert in December.

Puuuh, very much happening at one time, but thats the way I like it!  Well my blog is plenty long now, so I'll stop.. Have to get back to my History assignmen now. The great philosopher Socates is waiting to be written about.... Our host-mom has made pizza and a cake for Karoline birthday, but apart from that we'll be studying the rest of the evening, we'll celebrate her birthday more in Birmingham this weekend... So bye bye for now. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Feeling a bit sentimental....

I went to a poster store a couple of weeks ago, and came across some posters with different "wise words" written on them combined with beautiful nature pictures. Some of the sayings made pretty good sence, so I scribbled dem down. Always good to look back on if you're having a bad day..Well here are some of the sayings along with some pictures I've picked out:

'
Contemplation
If today was perfect there
would be no need for tomorrow..

Destiny
The choices we make, not the
chances we take, determine our destiny

Imagination
What lies behind us and what lies
before us are small matters compared
to what lies within us.

Dreams
far away there in the sunshine are my aspirations.
I may not reach them, but I can look up and see
their beauty, blive in them and try to follow
where they may lead.

Opportunity
with a guiding light, all
opstacles can be overcome.

Destiny
destiny is not a matter of chance,
it is a matter of choice.
It is not a thing to be waited for, it is
a thing to be achieved.

Ambition
If you don't go after what you want,
you will never have it.
If you don't ask,
the answer is always no.
If you don't step forward,
you are always in the same place.

Chemistry, chemistry,chemistry......

I am sooo tired of chemistry at the moment... have been sitting for two whole days now working on an assignment which has to be turned in tomorrow... mass spectrometer, stoichiometry, phenolphthalein indicator solutions, relative atomic mass, empirical formula, electronic configurations bla-bla-bla...... Chemistry is actully one of my favorite subjects here in Cambridge, but at the moment I'm not enjoying it too much... have written 12 pages by now and am almost done, so by tomorrow it will FINALLY be tured in!

Picture of the day...

Came across this picture earlier today... haha have to say it made me laugh pretty hard... I have bad humour, I know... Poor Piglet! But in these days with all the talk about swine flu you can never be too careful!

Glory, glory, Man United!

Just a quick blog to tell you about the soccer game yesterday.. ! Will make it short cause am very tiered..slept only 3 hours last night..Will tell you why in a minute...So yes as you might have read an the previous blog, I went to Manchester yesterday! About 100-150 students from Cambridge went yesterday to the Champions League game between Manchester United and Moscow CSKA. The bus ride took about four hours, and we arrived at Old Trafford about an hour before the game began. So pretty much eveyone went to the Manchester mega store to buy scarves and souvenirs.. Me still being a Liverpool supporter did not get one...Well.. we entered the stadium, found our seats and the game could begin! And MAN it went fast! felt like we were only watching it for 5 minutes before it was suddenly half time... It was an extreamly exciting game! First Moscow scored, and about five minutes later Man U scored... then just before half time Moscow scored again! And then again three minutes after the second halv had started... It looked pretty bad for Man U since it then suddenly was only about 10 minutes left of the game, but then they scored their second goal!! The crowd went mental! (sorry Liverpool! But I was cheering like crazy with the rest of the Man U supporters.. just got so caught up in the moment)  and then 2 minutes into overtime they did it again! Another goal for Manchester United! So the game ended 3-3...! Not bad... So Manchester goes on i the hunt for the Championes League trofee since they have one more point from winning the last game against Moscow... We then went all excited out of the stadium the 73.000 other supporters... Then a 4 hour bus ride home... so wasn't home before about 4 in the morning, and then had to get up at 7 to go to school.. Oh joy! Well it was absolutely worth it!

Half term!!

Last week was half term, so had the whole week off from school. Our teacher being.. well teachers, and assuming we don’t have anything else to do with our time when we are off from school, of course gave us plenty of homework to do.. Typical.. Well, nothing to complain about.. I had a great time.. First my mom came on Saturday. Was really nice to see her again! And she brought with her a hole suitcase of food and stuff for me.. English food is good, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve really missed proper Norwegian food.. So thanks mom!

We spent all day Saturday and Sunday here in Cambridge before we went to London and took the train to Brighton with our friend Magda. She only was there for a day, while my mom and I stayed over for two days.. Brighton was really nice! Enjoyed seeing the ocean again! Am used to have it right outside my kitchen window, but here in Cambs there are no ocean and no mountains.. We went to the famous Brighton Pier and just walked around the town..

After two days in Brighton it was time for my mom to get back to Norway, and at the same time one of my best friends from Norway, Tina to come to London with her family. So said goodbye to my mom and went straight to the arrivals at the airport to meet Tina and her parents.. We then spent 2 days in London. I give you two words: Oxford Street! That’s probably where we spent most of our time.. haha, but didn’t actually use that much money.. With gift certificates and some money from my grandmother and my mom’s friend Eli (thank you!) I only used about 60 pounds.. Some of the clothes I bought:

Thursday eventing Tina and I took the bus back to Cambridge so she could see where I live and spent the hole day Friday here, before she also had to go back to Norway.. Was great seeing her again! Saturday I had to catch up on my history and chemistry assignment, and it was also Halloween! And to finish up a great week, Sunday, Emilie, a girl from my class and I went back to London to go to a GREEN DAY concert! Aaaaah! It was awesome! They are one of my favorite bands and they were so incredibly good live! The perfect end to the week!

And today I'm going to MANCHESTER! haha busy week! seeing Manchester United Vs Moscow at Old Trafford! (for those who don't know, Manchester United is the biggest soccer team in England) so that will be great fun! I'm actually a Liverpool fan, which is kind of Manchesters rival, but am still going cause I want to Experience as much as I can while I am in England… And soccer being such a big part of the English culture, a proper Champions League game should be exciting! Can’t wait!
